Surface Electromyography has been used by both the medical and chiropractic professions for over 40 years.
It's use helps the doctor determine areas of hypertonic (too tight) and hypotonic (too weak) muscles. These muscle imbalances create postural distortions that eventually result in disc degeneration and degenerative joint disease.
By examining the muscle activity before care and again later in the care plan, comparisons can be drawn to determine progess and change to a more structurally sound spinal column.
